Have you ever heard the saying "The customer is always right?" Well, I completely disagree with this statement. For example, a customer was very upset when he heard that our shake machine was broken. He bought a meal, with a large soda cup. At this time all of our drinks were a dollar. He said: "Well the least you can do is fill my cup up with ice cream and eventually it'll melt into a vanilla shake, since your shake machine is broken." I told him no, because that's like giving him seven ice cream cones for a dollar, which is ridiculous. If you want ice cream, you can pay for it. Obviously I didn't say that but that's what I was thinking. He came back the next day requesting the same thing and my manager gave it to him. He was so rude, and it made me so angry that he got away with it. With all this being said, is the customer ALWAYS right?

Customer can be jerks, but managers are usually pushed into positions where they might have to give in, cause complaints to the higher ups usually end up on their heads. Best way to stop a customer from complaining is to keep him happy, sadly.
ReplyDeleteI hate the fact that you're right. lol
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could have told him I could make his drink into a coke float which wouldn't use as much ice cream. I don't know but yeah he was a little rude, but like David said that it is sad that things happen this way. They don't want to push away any customers.
